Avoid Craigslist ads that seem too good to be true
Before buying from Craigslist, it is best to do a little research. Do an internet search to determine the retail value of the item for sale. You can go a step further and check sites like eBay or OfferUp to see the current used price for the item (or similar item) you’re buying. Once you have determined the approximate value, compare that to the state of the item. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
