Sassa Grant Recipients Are Encouraged To Use Alternative Payment Points To Collect Grant Payments
Beneficiaries are encouraged to look for alternative payment points as some post office branches may not have sufficient funds.
Although the post office has stated that the majority of SASSA recipients have been paid for the month of May.
On Tuesday 3 May, seniors’ grants were paid, Wednesday 4 May disability grants and on Thursday 5 May children’s grants paid.
Therefore, recipients who need to collect the Covid-19 R350 grant and those using cash payment points are urged to seek alternative ways to collect the grant.
Recipients using a Postbank Sassa Gold Card will be able to withdraw their grants at supermarkets, without any commission. These beneficiaries may also swipe their card to pay for any purchases because all swipes are commission-free.
Therefore, the recipient receives the full value of his grant when used in a supermarket, down to the last cent.
Individuals can also use their Gold Cards at all ATMs in South Africa. If an ATM is used to withdraw the grant, the bank that owns the ATM will charge a fee.
