The mine is located in the golden fields of Lake Victoria in northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km from the city of Mwanza and 20 km southeast of the closest point to Lake Victoria. The company’s head office is located in Geita, just 5 kilometers west of the fast-growing city of Geita, and a support office is in Dar es Salaam.

The purpose of the role
- Required to carry out installation,
- Removal and repair of mine services,
- logistics work related activities as well as masonry hole walls for spraying,
- casting pads,
- erecting formwork,
- sealing or casting drilling rigs and 11 kV cable wall activities.
The above roles must be implemented in addition to specific instructions from the Superintendent – Underground Mining and the requirements of the relevant Tanzanian mining legislation. Training is required to acquire safety skills in operating underground equipment.

Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary education
• Must possess a valid Tanzanian driving license with experience in driving underground mining
• Site entry requirements that must include medical health monitoring
Experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years of operational experience in mining environments, at least one year in
underground mining environment
• Knowledge of underground mining practices
Main or Key responsibilities:
- Extension of ventilation services to areas when needed, which includes hanging ventilation bags and moving/installing secondary fans.
• Extension of water and air services to areas where they are needed
• Moving and installing pumps in areas when needed
• Carry out installation, removal and repair of mine services
• Carry out logistical activities related to work
• Construction of spray vent walls, cast pads, erection of formwork, lockouts for casting drilling rigs and 11 kV cable wall activities
• Maintenance and repair services and equipment such as ventilation bags, manifolds and auxiliary valves in all operations including intrusion and wanted operators
• Work closely with the Mining Supervisor to ensure that service machines are delivered to the workshop and at the correct times
• Take a proactive approach to improving performance by monitoring machine conditions and identifying improved methods of work for continuous improvement
• Immediately report and connect equipment malfunctions. Assemble and fix cable bolts and slurry cable bolts
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

• Previous experience operating underground or open ground drilling equipment
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
